By Our Community, For Our Community

Meet our WHEN authors below. We love partnering with writers from our community to bring you content that is rooted in Scripture and paired with each writer’s unique life experience. If you’re looking to write an article for us, submit your pitch here.

Meet Our Authors

Meet the writers we’ve partnered with and click on their names to navigate to the articles they’ve written. You may recognize some of them as Hosanna Revival staff, or authors of the printed devotionals we’ve published. You may recognize some of them from Instagram, or you may have never heard of them. Our goal is to create a platform to amplify these voices as they mine the Word, looking for the Scripture’s answers to life’s questions. We’re glad you’re here.

CJ Gossage is a Ph.D. student at Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati, OH. Academically, he is captivated by how the Hebrew Bible generated the many religious expressions of Judaism and Christianity in the Second Temple period and beyond. Practically, CJ enjoys life’s deep, philosophical questions. Theologically, CJ is constantly trying to integrate his academic interests and scattered reading habits with contemporary Christianity.

Long before Ela knew of storytelling as a vehicle for gospel-fueled transformation, she was already crafting stories with hopeful endings. While this went on for a while, her journey took a drastic turn when she went to Taylor University and encountered hope in the face of God. He was the ultimate hope she was searching for amidst her stories. With that knowledge came new layers of storytelling—photography, baking, videography, and more. She now enjoys studying the Word of her personal God and sharing what he is teaching her through the art of writing.

Eli lives in southwest Ohio with his wife, Stephanie, and their three kids. He's a member and singer on the music team at The Oaks Community Church. A teacher-turned-marketer by day, Eli loves board games, Survivor, reading and listening to audiobooks, and the giggly chaos of a house with three young kids.

Elise Tegegne lives in Indianapolis with her husband and energetic two-year-old. Her work has appeared at Fathom, Plough, Risen Motherhood, and (in)courage, among others. She is writing a blog series called “Experiments in Inefficiency,” which seeks to find out what it means to live a Spirit-paced life. Headshot, Erica Boden

Erica spends her days as a consultant and her evenings as a doctoral student, yet her favorite roles are being a daughter, sister, and friend. You can find her yelling, “Roll Tide!” at a television, enjoying a long run, or writing—probably wrapped in a fuzzy blanket. An alumna of the Fulbright Program, she loves traveling and seeing the consistency of God and his love for people throughout the world. YET: The Promise in Habakkuk for Those in Transition is her first published devotional.

I love Jesus and I love His Church. I love writing biblical articles to encourage people in their walk as they follow Jesus. I'm local to Charlotte, and a classically trained violinist, playing for weddings and events in North and South Carolina.
